Patricia, or Pat as she is known, is a retired university administrator and freelance copy editor who is married with two grown-up daughters and has spent a lifetime with horses, riding and competing.
Pat has run her own small yard for the last forty-five years, including breeding and producing Sport horses and currently competes her own dressage horse.
Pat joined RDA almost by accident in October 2013! Her younger daughter, who was an RDA Instructor with Ruddington RDA Group, had to resign unexpectedly and not wanting to let the group down introduced Pat as someone who knew a little bit about horses to help for an hour a week during term time. By the following September she had become a Group Instructor! She achieved the UKCC Level 1 Award in Coaching Equestrian Riding in 2017 and has continued as a Coach with two groups in the North Midlands Region, namely, Belvoir Vale RDA and Ruddington RDA Group. In 2023 she was selected to follow the Princess Royal Coach Academy Advanced Coach training programme; and in 2024 she became a Level 3 Show jumping Coach.
As if that wasn’t already enough, Pat has also judged Dressage and Countryside Challenge competitions at the N.Midland Regional Qualifiers and is a very active fundraiser for RDA!
